Duck hunting within our lakes and ponds will deliver a great action hunt to the avid duck hunter. Cooling down your barrel and letting a few flocks pass can be the norm. We have a good number of mallard, teal, local wood ducks but it is the habitat (wild rice bays) that allows for several waves of northern flights through out the fall months to stop in our area to feed. Our area is noted for its exceptional abundance of diver ducks which include ring neck,blue bills,red head and golden eye. At the best times these diver ducks maybe found in flocks of thousands.The two larger boats will be used to shuttle our guests to the hunting areas than transported in the smaller bays with a 14’ camouflage boat. We provide decoys, and canoes if needed. Blinds are made from the immediate terrain, and we can assist in duck calling. Check out our rates page, you will find them to be comparibly economical.

Clearwater Lodge: The Clearwater Lake / Pipestone Lake chain of lakes is located dead center on a principal route of the Mississippi Flyway and a major staging area for migrating waterfowl. Millions of ducks stop here to rest and feed on the food-rich waters before continuing south. Many species of ducks can be harvested. Usually the Mallards and Wood Ducks show up first in early September. Following in late September and early October are Ring-necked Ducks, Bluebills, Black Ducks, Buffleheads, and Goldeneyes. Large flocks of Canada Goose and Snow Goose also stop to rest. Grouse are extremely common in our area of Ontario. We have hundreds of miles of game trails, ATV paths and old gravel roads to drive or walk down where you will see Grouse all over the place. Harris Hill Resort is located between Rainy River and Atikokan on Lake of The Woods. Duck, Goose and Grouse Hunting is very popular in this area. Hunters do not have to go very far as there are usually abundant waterfowl in our bay right in front of the lodge. Their migratory routes pass right over Lake of the You will see a wide variety of ducks in the early season of September: Mallards, Teal and Wood Ducks. Following those are the Ring-necked Ducks, Bluebills, Black Ducks, Buffleheads, and Goldeneyes which follow usually in early October. The geese found here are the Canada Goose and the Snow Goose. South River Resort is located just 3 hours north of Toronto and in WMU 47. They are adjacent to a large wilderness area and under the Atlantic Flyway, which is the next flyway east of the Mississippi Flyway so the population of ducks and geese is high. In the fall thousands of ducks and geese stop off on the South River and the nearby sheltered bays of Lake Nipissing to rest. This time of year there are very few tourists in the area so blinds and decoys are not disturbed and the hunting is great. Canada Goose and Mallards are the most common with opportunities for other species. Accommodations are comfortable and clean waterfront housekeeping cottages. Also available is outstanding hunting for Whitetail Deer along with great fishing for Walleye, Pike, Muskie & Bass. Pine Cliff Lodge
Is located right in the middle of the most productive hunting region in Ontario, which is the vast wilderness between Sioux Lookout and Dryden. There are many game trails and old ATV paths in there area where the bush can easily be accessed for hours of fantastic Grouse Hunting. Riffed Grout are very common and all over the place. Guests also harvest the odd Spruce Grouse or Sharptail Grouse, which are not common in the area. The terrain in their area is classical Moose habitat with a high population, thus Pine Cliff Lodge receives two Bull Moose tags and two Cow Moose Tags for WMU 5. They off Moose hunting for Rifle, Archery, Crossbow and Muzzleloader. Black Bear, Moose and Grouse are the main targets. Their large Black Bear Area (BMA) produces bears commonly between 200 and 300 pounds but there are many bears that are larger. The reason is the effort put into baiting their remote tree stands with food bears really like and not just food scraps from the lodge.
