Clearwater Lodge: The Clearwater Lake / Pipestone Lake chain of lakes is located dead center on a principal route of the Mississippi Flyway and a major staging area for migrating waterfowl. Millions of ducks stop here to rest and feed on the food-rich waters before continuing south. Many species of ducks can be harvested. Usually the Mallards and Wood Ducks show up first in early September. Following in late September and early October are Ring-necked Ducks, Bluebills, Black Ducks, Buffleheads, and Goldeneyes. Large flocks of Canada Goose and Snow Goose also stop to rest. Grouse are extremely common in our area of Ontario. We have hundreds of miles of game trails, ATV paths and old gravel roads to drive or walk down where you will see Grouse all over the place. In the fall you most commonly see them on the ground vs. the spring when they are up in the trees trying to find mates. www.clearwaterlodge.net

Lecuyers Lodge is located on Lake of the Woods and has great hunting for Ruffed Grouse, Blue Wing Teal, Bufflowheads, Blue Bills, Divers, Golden Eyes, Mallards and Canada goose. They offer American Plan and housekeeping cabins. www.lecuyerslodge.com

Harris Hill Resort is located between Rainy River and Atikokan on Lake of The Woods. Duck, Goose and Grouse Hunting is very popular in this area. Hunters do not have to go very far as there are usually abundant waterfowl in our bay right in front of the lodge. Their migratory routes pass right over Lake of the You will see a wide variety of ducks in the early season of September: Mallards, Teal and Wood Ducks. Following those are the Ring-necked Ducks, Bluebills, Black Ducks, Buffleheads, and Goldeneyes which follow usually in early October. The geese found here are the Canada Goose and the Snow Goose. Happy Holiday Campground & Cottages is located a few minutes north of Temagami. They have lots of hiking trails and ATV trails for easy access into the bush for Ruffed Grouse, Spruce Grouse & Moose hunting. They do not have non-resident tags right now.
